Aluprof
Modern aluminum glazing, ground-floor security, larger openings
Aluprof is not a window in a box. It is an aluminum system — profiles, thermal breaks, gaskets and hardware engineered as a set, then fabricated into finished windows by a licensed workshop. That is how most of Europe buys aluminum glazing, and it is why the numbers attached to these products tend to be specific.
For a Queens project, the appeal is narrow frames, large glass, and hard evidence on both thermal performance and security.
Who they are
Founded in 1958 and based in Bielsko-Biała, Poland, Aluprof is part of the Grupa Kęty group and supplies aluminum systems across Europe and beyond, for everything from single-family houses to tall buildings.
Materials and system families
MB-70 is the widely used thermally broken window system, with frame U-values from around 1.0 W/m²K and burglar-resistance classes up to RC4. MB-86 and MB-86N add deeper profiles and aerogel insulation, pushing frame U-values below 0.7 W/m²K. MB-79N and MB-104 extend the range further.
Systems are tested to EN classes for air, water and wind performance, and several ranges carry UK PAS 24 security certification.
Which properties it suits
- Modern rear extensions and large fixed or sliding glazing.
- Ground-floor and garden-level openings where security class is a real concern.
- Multi-family and larger buildings needing a documented system rather than a catalogue unit.
How it differs from the other brands here
Against the American brands, this is engineering-led aluminum with published system data, not a stocked residential product line. Against Schüco and Reynaers, Aluprof tends to compete hard on value while carrying comparable certification.
What to confirm for your own openings
A brand is a starting point, not a specification. Before Aluprof is the right answer for your home, a handful of details need to be settled at the opening itself.
- Which series within the brand is actually available for your opening size and configuration.
- Frame material and depth against the existing jamb, and whether the install is insert or full-frame.
- Glazing package — coatings, gas fill, laminated or acoustic glass for a busy street.
- Hardware, screens and finish, inside and out, so the window matches the room and the facade.
- Lead time from approved drawings to delivery, and what happens on install day.
